Who can receive 100WWC Fernie Funds?

  • Organizations or non-profits located in the Elk Valley that support social services, humanitarian and cultural causes.
  • Non-eligible uses of funds include administrative, office, staff, contractor, or consultant-related expenses.
  • National charities are not eligible unless the organization can prove that 100% of the funds will stay in the Fernie and surrounding area (Elk Valley).
  • Causes that have been funded may be nominated two years following the original receipt of the funds.

Previously funded causes:
December 2020 – Fernie Women’s Resource Centre, Angel Flight East Kootenay, Fernie Fresh Food Share
May 2021 – Fernie Friends of Friends, Cycling Without Age
November 2021 – Elk Valley Suicide Task Force and Rocky Mountain Village Society 

Nominations will be vetted to confirm they meet the criteria above.

All approved nominations will be put into a hat and six nominations will be drawn. The nominators of those six groups will be asked to speak at the event on behalf of their organization on the night of the event.

All information will be held in the strictest of confidence and used solely for the purposes of the 100WWCFernie Giving Committee.
